Kaitlin and Austin Engagement at Notre Dame, Indiana
Kaitlin’s mom has worked at Notre Dame University in South Bend for over 30 years. Kaitlin grew up on campus, so it was only fitting to do their engagement session there. It is nice to have connections, as we were able to use a golf cart to move around campus!
Austin and Kaitlin met during high school band and have been together over seven years. Now she is a case manager for Real Services and he is a graphic designer/photographer for a car dealership. They are fans of the Avengers, so Iron Man and Captain America were instrumental in our session. Also, Beauty and the Beast has played a big role in Kaitlin’s life. Mom watched the movie while in labor with her, so the movie is a favorite!
Kaitlin’s ring was her grandmother’s. We will be seeing them again in April!
Megan and Robbie Engaged in Fort Wayne
Robbie and Megan grew up going to the same church. Nine years ago they started dating, and will be married in May at that same church. They chose May because they didn’t want any chance of snow on their wedding day. Cannot blame them for that!
Megan chose to meet near Lawton Park in Fort Wayne. We walked around the old fort, Megan’s aunt used to coordinate the costumes for the actors when they had reenactments. From there we crossed the bridge to Headwaters Park and downtown.
We look forward to seeing the lovely couple again in May!
Rana and Kevin Engaged in South Bend
Rana and Kevin had both decided to give on-line dating one last chance after some less than stellar match-ups. And are we ever glad they did! Three years ago they agreed to meet on the Mishawaka River Walk. Rana brought her teenage daughter and her boyfriend for support, but she didn’t really need it. Kevin and Rana talked for hours.
One of Rana’s favorite shows is the Bachelor. Kevin whisked her away for a romantic weekend at a Bed & Breakfast on Lake Heron. He set up a table for two and, in the tradition of The Bachelor, asked her to accept his rose, and proposed.
They are big Notre Dame fans, so chose the campus for their session. There is a legend that says if a couple kisses under a certain archway, they will be together forever. So, we made sure to find several arches!
We look forward to seeing Rana and Kevin in May!
Amber and Brett Engaged in Kalamazoo Michigan
If you look back in our history, you will find our “Pirate Wedding”! One of our favorite weddings had the wedding party, officiant and guests dressed as pirates. We have remained friends with Margie and Terry over the years, so they contacted us when their daughter, Amber got engaged.
We joined Amber and Brett downtown Kalamazoo to do their engagement session. We started out walking towards the Mall and stopped at the interesting looking areas along the way. We walked along the mall and went towards the art museum. Heading back towards the parking garage where they had parked, we found a new friend. There was a turtle statue we had to incorporate into our session.
We ended our session on top of the parking garage, which was where they had parked on their first date. The view of Kalamazoo was amazing!
We look forward to seeing this couple again in January for their wedding!
Lauren and Ryan Engaged
Lauren wanted to go to the Hamstra Gardens in Wheatfield Indiana for their engagement shoot. The Hamstra Garden is a private garden which allows weddings and visits, as long as you contact them ahead of time. The treehouse and other locations were perfect for our shoot.
